Student Entrepreneur Makes Fixies Affordable

At age 20, Jake Medwell, with a friend, decided to start a business venture that took advantage of the hipster community and anyone else raving over fixed-gears bikes with a high-quality fixed-gear bike for $310. Less than 2 years, a business plan, a grant, some fundraising, and a deal with Gilt later, Solé Bicycles is expecting to pull in sales of $1 million this year. Wow. Jake is quite the hustler, especially with the company only consisting of him, his partner, and an intern. Check out the video below of Jake talking about the bikes and his plans to take over the world with fixies.
